Must Do

  1. Stroll these historic tree-lined streets and discover beautiful gardens, hidden shops, and stately homes.
  2. New to this area is the Electric Works campus, a revitalized GE Campus that teams with new life. Grab lunch at the Union Street Market and stroll these historic buildings.
  3. Walk the Broadway Corridor (link) which connects the West Central Neighborhood to discover great retail - from art galleries to toy shops!

While in the West Central Neighborhood you will want to be sure to grab an ice cream cone from Brooklyn Pints Microcreamery, or a coffee and steamed bagel from Davey's Bagels. And the perfect lunch stop for a group with different tastes will always be Union Street Market - where the varied vendors allow for countless options!

Swinney Park has plenty of natural open space to find a quiet spot to visit nature in the midst of a bustling city.

Colonel Swinney's beautiful home still sits on the property and was originally a twenty-three room Federal style structure that was converted to a Victorian Italianate by his three daughters. You can stroll the grounds and gardens, and enjoy tennis courts, a playground, disc golf and other park amenities.

Many of Fort Wayne's best small boutiques can be found in the West Central District.

Check out the Brass Rail, a Fort Wayne favorite for live local music.
