Historic Northeast
Fort Wayne's Historic Northeast Neighborhoods feature a historic urban village, and walkable tree-lined neighborhoods. It is also home to several of our best-loved legacy parks, and located close to downtown amenities.
Must Do
- Every fall, Fort Wayne hosts the Johnny Appleseed Festival, a period-authentic tribute to John Chapman, aka Johnny Appleseed. Year round, you can visit his gravesite at Johnny Appleseed Park.
- Shop the East State Boulevard shops for something new, alongside a historic storefront that is still a community staple.
- Lakeside Rose Garden is a picture-perfect place to stroll among the fountains, gardens, and pergola-lined paths.
Restaurants
There are so many unique places to dine in this historic district including the coffee shops of North Anthony Boulevard, The Oh Five Scoop Shop, and el Azteca, to name a few.
Things To Do
The Memorial Coliseum sits on the edge of this district and is home to Komet Hockey along with many touring musicians and special events.
