Parks, Trails, and the Fort Wayne Zoo
Enjoy some of the 140 miles of trails, numerous parks and playgrounds, 10 splash pads, and the beautiful Fort Wayne Zoo.
If you’re looking to take a nice stroll or bike ride in Fort Wayne, grab your trail map and explore. From trails winding through city parks and next to our rivers to trails that will take you into beautiful natural habitats, there is something new around every bend.
If you’d like to take a picnic lunch, pick a nice spot at one of our beautiful parks or gardens. Some local favorites are Promenade, Lakeside, Shoaff, Foster, Headwaters, or Swinney. Take a frisbee or ball to toss around for extra fun!
Or for one of those hot summer days, take the kids to one of the splashpads located around Fort Wayne!
Take a journey to Africa, Australia, and Asia at the Fort Wayne Zoo. Your family will love 40 acres of animals, rides and beautifully landscaped grounds. Feed the giraffes, pet a stingray, or search for the Sumatran tigers all at the zoo! Buy your tickets in advance.

Head over to the downtown Allen County Public Library, where there are many treasures to find! Consider researching your family history in the Genealogy Center!
The Firefighters' Museum is another great place to discover! The museum is open Mon.-Sat. 10 am - 4 pm, but make sure you call ahead to ensure they're open. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors (65 and up) and kids (3-17), and free for ages 2 and under.
Consider the History Center, where you can see more than 26,000 artifacts that represent the history of Fort Wayne and Allen County. The History Center's hours are Monday-Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm, Saturday from 9 am - 5 pm, and the first Sunday of the month from 12 pm - 5 pm unless otherwise noted. Admission: $7 Adults (18-64) / $5 for Seniors (65+) and Youth (3-17) / Free for Children 2 and under.
Take a walking tour of the Allen County Courthouse any day of the week and browse the Beaux Arts design and more than 15,000 sq.ft. of scagliola. Get a self-guided tour brochure by visiting allencountycourthouse.org. Group Tours are also available by appointment on Monday-Friday between 8:30 am - 4 pm.
Go Shopping
The Glenbrook Square mall and Jefferson Pointe Shopping Center are two great options to find many stores. Plus, check out some of our fantastic boutiques and antique stores.
Burn Some Energy
Head north to UltraZone or Lazer X for some laser tag fun or go to Crazy Pinz where you can go bowling or play mini golf. You can also find mini-golf at Putt-Putt Fun Center.
