In 1912 Samuel and Colonel David N. Foster and their families donated the original 67 acres of Foster Park to Fort Wayne. Since then, there has been 151 acres added to the original land. Within the Foster Park acreage there are pavilions, a dog park, a golf course, playgrounds, community gardens, and even a bridal area. Additionally, the Fort Wayne Rivergreenway passes through Foster Park allowing for people to walk, run, and bike through the nature trail.

  • 2019-07-04 09:00:00 2019-07-04 11:00:00 Run, White and Blue 5K and One-Mile Walk <p>NAMI Fort Wayne (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) is hosting a 5 K run and one mile fun walk on July 4, 2019 in beautiful Foster Park. This is a great opportunity to set a personal record on the flat, fast, and scenic course. The 5 K starts at 9:00 a.m. The untimed walk starts at 10:00 a.m. Wear your best patriotic outfit and you could win a prize. Form a walk team for our One-Mile walk. There are no teams in the 5 K. All proceeds benefit NAMI Fort Wayne. Please remember that no baby stroller/joggers, roller blades/skates, or pets are allowed. Race results will be posted on eRunner.biz<br /><br />New for 2019! Register by May 1, 2019 for just $22 and receive a guaranteed race shirt. Registration after May 1, 2019 is $27.
