Join Visit Fort Wayne and Purdue Fort Wayne to celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day with lunch and keynote speaker Alfreeda Goff, Nike Lifetime Achievement Award Winner and moderated by Kelley Hartley Hutton, Director of Athletics at Purdue Fort Wayne.
About Alfreeda:
With a storied, 40-year career in collegiate athletics, Alfreeda Goff has been a tireless advocate and example for women in athletics. Her career has included time at the University of Pittsburgh, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia State University, and the Horizon League. As the first female athletic director at Virginia State University, she led the athletics program to historical growth and success and was awarded NACWAA’s Administrator of Year Award in 1999. One of her top accomplishments is being part of the original development of Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Program at the University of Pittsburgh. She was also the first administrator at Virginia Commonwealth University to oversee men and women's sports as the coordinator for all aspects of the sports. Throughout her career, Goff has been an advocate for women administrators, playing a founding role in the Women’s Leadership Symposium, helping young female administrators climb the ranks of athletic administration. Her active roles in Women Leaders in College Sports (formerly NACWAA), MOAA, and NACDA have provided leadership and mentorship to numerous administrators. Learn more about Alfreeda.
