• "Art of the Garden: Daniel Dienelt at the Conservatory" Exhibit

    Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory

Recurring weekly on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday until November 11, 2018

2018-07-14 2018-11-11 "Art of the Garden: Daniel Dienelt at the Conservatory" Exhibit
"Art of the Garden: Daniel Dienelt at the Conservatory" Exhibit
July 14 - November 11

While some gardens feature art, this garden is its own work of art. 'Art of the Garden' blurs the line between landscape and fine art, using features found in nature -- forest, mountain, and lake - to create an entirely human-made aesthetic experience. The exhibit is designed to invoke surprise, intrigue, and moments of reflection in the visitor. Constructed using natural materials and innovative fabrication, the exhibit mimics, but does not copy nature. A reflecting pond, grove of trees, and colorful, textured plantings are complemented by contemporary art works including mural paintings, a multi-media artifact wall, and the sculptural representation of a mountain. Experience this collaborative art and garden installation created by local artist Daniel Dienelt and landscape designer Chad Shaw. Sponsored by the M.E. Raker Foundation.

Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory
1100 South Calhoun Street
Fort Wayne, IN 46802
(260) 427-6440

Hours:
Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 5pm
Thursday 10am - 8pm
Sunday Noon - 4pm

Admission
Adults $5
Children (ages 3-17) $3
Age 2 and under Free
1100 South Calhoun Street Fort Wayne, IN America/Indiana/Winamac

This year, the Conservatory is drawing on the old-fashioned sensibilities of the Victorian Era. We'll set the scene for Father Christmas with yesteryear's candles, plum pudding, carolers, and handmade decor that brought pleasure to families before the turn of the last century in both England and her cousin America. Peek into a house decorated for the holidays while you stroll a lamp-lit street. A display of images from vintage postcards will help you capture the feeling of those days.

Hours:
Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 5pm
Thursday 10am - 8pm
Sunday Noon - 4pm
Closed: Mondays, New Years Day, Christmas Day

Admission
Adults $5
Children (ages 3-17) $3
Age 2 and under Free
1100 South Calhoun Street Fort Wayne, IN America/Indiana/Winamac
