Three Rivers Honor Band Weekend
<p>The annual weekend brings together some of the brightest and most talented middle and high school musicians from the region for a spectacular weekend of learning and performing under the batons of conductors Kathleen A. McGrady, President for the Ohio Music Education Association, and Dr. Cynthia Johnston Turner, professor of music at the Hodgson School of Music, University of Georgia.</p>

Barber and Vaughan Williams
<p>Andrew Constantine, conductor<br /><br /><br />Robert deMaine performs Barber's Cello Concerto, a work of musical fireworks and aching lyricism. The concert concludes with Vaughan Williams' most popular symphony, a pastoral romance that sings with emotional strength and spirituality.<br /><br /><br />-<br /><br />Musically Speaking<br />This free pre-concert talk, sponsored by the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Friends, is designed to provide audience members insight into the evening's concert program and featured guest artists. For Masterworks concerts at the Embassy, it is located in the Gallery of the Grand Wayne Center. For Masterworks concerts at Auer Performance Hall, it is located in Instrumental Rehearsal Room 120. Musically Speaking starts at 6:30 pm (one hour before every Masterworks concert).</p>
