Fort Wayne, IN- Adaptive Sports USA announced that they will be hosting the Adaptive Sports USA 2018 Junior Nationals in conjunction with the Turnstone Center in Fort Wayne, IN. The event is scheduled for July 21-28.

“Turnstone, Visit Fort Wayne and the City of Fort Wayne are proud to collaborate with Adaptive Sports USA to host the 35th iteration of the Junior Nationals. Fort Wayne is centrally located and provides easy access from most anywhere in the United States. When you couple Turnstone’s Plassman Athletic Center with the community’s first class sport venues, hotels and recreational and entertainment options along with Indiana’s famous Hoosier Hospitality, Fort Wayne is committed to hosting a first class event for the expected 300+ athletes along with families and spectators who will visit Fort Wayne.” Mike Mushett CEO, Turnstone.

This event is the largest longstanding annual multi-sport event for youth with a physical disability and/or visual impairment in the United States. Junior Nationals has traveled to a different host city annually since its inception in 1984. The weeklong national sport championship is open to young athletes through the age of 22 and includes educational clinics, socials and competition in archery, powerlifting, swimming, track and field, and more.

“Adaptive Sports USA is thrilled to partner with Turnstone for the 35th edition of Junior Nationals. The City of Fort Wayne and Turnstone are ready to welcome our athletes, their coaches and family members with their warm hospitality and we are confident in their leadership’s ability to put on a world class event. Turnstone has hosted multiple national competitions, has venues that will offer a quality championship experience and has a strong volunteer program already in place. Turnstone is an Adaptive Sports USA chapter, Disabled Sports USA chapter, Gold Medal Paralympic Sport Club and United States Association of Blind Athletes Sports Club and is a vital part of the adaptive and Paralympic movement both locally and nationally. We look forward to planning and implementing the Adaptive Sports USA Junior Nationals with them over the next year.” Susan Rossi, Executive Director, Adaptive Sports USA
