Data Shows Significant Growth and Strength of Industry
Last week the Indiana Destination Development Corporation and Visit Fort Wayne released the newest economic impact numbers, demonstrating the significant impact of the visitor economy in our communities.
Each year, Allen County hosts 8.8 million visitors, and those visitors spend $995 million in our community each year! These numbers are up 25% from the year prior, showing strong recovery and a vibrant, growing visitor economy.
Visitors support our restaurants, retail, transportation, attractions, entertainment and lodging - which all contribute to the quality of life that residents enjoy. In fact, visitor spending supports 13,626 jobs in our community and is the 8th largest industry in Allen County.
