You’ve asked, and we answered! If you’re planning a quick trip to Fort Wayne or want to know how to navigate Fort Wayne, read below for some answers to frequently asked questions from the Fort Wayne Visitors Center.

1. When is the Vera Bradley Sale?

Believe or not, we receive this question a lot! The Vera Bradley Annual Outlet Sale is an awesome sale happening every spring! The 2017 Vera Bradley Annual Sale will take place April 19 – 23. Tickets typically go on sale in February or March of the year. Stay tuned for when ticket sales open.

2. Where can I park in downtown Fort Wayne? Where can I find free parking?

Parking is abundant in the city, you just might have to look for it! Free Parking is available after 5:00 pm and the max amount you’ll pay you'll pay during the day is $8/day. The Visitors Center suggests parking in one of the public garages, on the street at a meter, or some of the lots like at Headwaters Park or Lawton Park. Just remember to check if there is a festival before parking in the Headwaters Park lots. 3. What are some things I can do with a teenager?

Depending on when you’re visiting, there is plenty to do in Fort Wayne with teenagers. If you’re looking for something to do outdoors, consider the Lawton Skate Park, a TinCaps Baseball game, a great Fort Wayne festival or renting a kayak, bike or canoe at Fort Wayne Outfitters. If you’re looking for indoor activities, check out a full list of activities that feature laser tag, or a minor league hockey or basketball game.

4. Where can you go shopping?

In Fort Wayne, there’s plenty of shopping to enjoy. From boutique shopping to destination facilities, or plan a trip to enjoy some of the great outlet sales.

5. Do you have a shopping District? How about Downtown Shopping?

There is no concentrated area of shopping, but we do have handy boutique lists that can help determine where to start your shopping adventure. If you’re looking to shop downtown, make sure you visit some of the great boutiques on Wayne Street like the Find or the City Exchange, don’t forget Creative Women of the World! Plus, make a visit to the West Central shops like Fancy and Staple, Maude & Mauve, Urban Hippie, and more!

6. Where can you eat Downtown?

7. What outdoor activities are available in Fort Wayne?

If you enjoy biking, kayaking, or canoeing then make a stop at Fort Wayne Outfitters to rent a bike, kayak, or canoe and explore Fort Wayne’s rivers. If you’re more into leisure walks visit our Parks and Trails page, or make a stop at Eagle Marsh or Fox Island to see some great wildlife. Kids will enjoy visiting one of the many splash pads in Fort Wayne. Most all of Fort Wayne’s festivals are held outdoors too! History lovers may like a walk around the Old Fort. You can also catch a foul ball at a Fort Wayne TinCaps baseball game. Plus, you can enjoy a concert or free movie at the Foellinger Outdoor Theatre. And, don’t forget the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo!

8. What local restaurants to you recommend?

Well, what are you looking for? Do you have any preferences? The Visitors Center is happy to help you find a restaurant, but we are partial to all of the great restaurants in Fort Wayne! Before you come to Fort Wayne, visit our Restaurants page to sort through all of the awesome Fort Wayne restaurants or stop in and ask for some dining maps based on where you’re staying/going!

10. Where are some water parks near Fort Wayne?

Fort Wayne does not have a waterpark per se, but we do have some great public pools like Jury Pool, Memorial Park, and North Side Park, and Fort Wayne has some great splash pads! Plus, you can also enjoy life on the water by kayaking or canoeing along one of Fort Wayne’s Three Rivers.
