FORT WAYNE, IN – This week, the Memorial Coliseum welcomes Alpaca breeders from across the country for the 35th Annual Mazuri Alpaca Owners Association (AOA) National Show presented by Heritage Farm Alpacas & Events and RayNay Alpaca Farm.
More than 700 alpacas will compete for a National Supreme Champion title, judged on conformation and fleece qualities.
This will be the 5th time that the Memorial Coliseum has hosted this fun and elite industry competition, having served as host in 2010, 2016, 2020, 2022, and now this year in 2024.
With nearly 40 years of history, AOA provides support to the North American alpaca industry through programs that assist members in growing their alpaca-focused businesses in the areas of fibers, services, and products. Dozens of vendors and farm displays will be in attendance at the show, selling the latest alpaca fashions, yarn, socks, and more.
Josie O'Donnell, Senior Sales Manager at Visit Fort Wayne says, "As is the case for so many of the conventions that return to Fort Wayne, AOA loves returning to our city because of the wonderful experience at the Memorial Coliseum and our city's friendliness. Visit Fort Wayne is excited to welcome AOA back and loves how unique events such as this one help show the adaptability of our venues to support groups and industries of all kinds, bolstered by our hotels, restaurants, attractions, and local support."
The public is invited to the show with free admission and can participate in fun activities like the alpaca selfie booth and a kids scavenger hunt with a winning prize. Don't miss the Alpaca Costume Contest on Saturday at noon, followed by the Youth Performance Competition, and the Youth Judging Competition.
