Supporting Our City's Sound

The Fort Wayne Music Office is the central hub dedicated to nurturing, celebrating and amplifying our community’s musical ecosystem. 

While Fort Wayne and Allen County have a long history of creating a diverse, vibrant sound, the music industry in our community has largely remained behind the scenes. That changes now. 

Serving as a bridge between public and private sectors, the Music Office will provide essential resources, advocacy and strategic guidance that supports both artists and music-related businesses. 

The Fort Wayne Music Office will formalize our community’s identity as a music destination—with a flourishing musical economy—and will support strategies that build upon existing momentum to enhance infrastructure, promote local talent, attract visitor investment and cultivate our reputation as a music-friendly city.

Fort Wayne/Allen County Music Economy Strategy

As outlined in Visit Fort Wayne’s 10-Year Tourism Master Plan and Greater Fort Wayne, Inc.’s ACT Plan, our community seeks to grow our music economy. Through a year-long effort in partnership with Sound Diplomacy, the resulting Fort Wayne/Allen County Music Economy Strategy outlines 17 actionable recommendations to continue to grow the community’s music economy. While Fort Wayne serves as the focal point of the report, its insights and goals are designed to support and elevate the entire Allen County community.

Music Board

The first outcome of the Music Economy Strategy is the development of a Music Board, comprised of seven partners: Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne, City of Fort Wayne, Embassy Theatre, Greater Fort Wayne Inc., Surack Enterprises, Sweetwater, and Visit Fort Wayne. 

Alongside the Music Board, the Fort Wayne Music Office will engage partners identified in the strategy and an advisory group of champions identified to help support and lead recommendations.
