LaGrange

Home to over 70 lakes and miles of navigable rivers — plus more than 12,000 acres of preserved land — LaGrange County is your go-to outdoors destination. You’ll find endless water-fun: power boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, or simply floating in peace. Fishing is a favorite pastime here, with many lakes offering access to Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Walleye, and other species, plus park piers if you don’t have a boat.

After working up a sweat, relax on public beaches like Dallas Lake, Cedar Lake, or Wall Lake — swim, sunbathe, picnic (no lifeguards, so swim at your own risk).

If you prefer trails over waves, we’ve got those too: walk or hike through woods, wetlands, rolling hills, prairies, or try off-road biking and the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail (a 20+ mile paved route).

For extra adventure, test your archery at Pine Knob Park or explore the Pigeon River Fish & Wildlife Area for hunting, wildlife watching, and more.

Bring the family, and bring your furry friends — LaGrange County invites everyone outdoors. Whether your plan is laid-back or action-packed, there’s something here for you.
