Family Getaways with Children
Take an Insider Look at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo
Any summertime trip to Fort Wayne starts at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo. Named one of the "top ten zoos in the nation," the Children's Zoo offers over 1,500 animals on 42 acres—and countless activities to fill the day. In fact, there are rides in every part of the zoo!
Families are encouraged to "tickle their toes in the treetops" on the Sky Safari in the African Journey, travel through the Australian Outback on a river log ride, and trek through the Indonesian Rain Forest! This summer, you can hand-feed giraffes, get nose-to-nose with a lion, and pet a stingray at one of Indiana's great treasures — the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.

And, enjoy Science on a Sphere, a room sized, global display system that uses computers and video projectors to display planetary data onto a six foot diameter sphere. This educational tool helps illustrate Earth System science using animated images of atmospheric storms, climate change, and ocean temperatures – in addition to thousands of other data sets.

In addition, the Conservatory is surrounded by four outdoor gardens and a charming gift shop and restaurant.
