Visit Fort Wayne would like to pass on this grant information to you, our partners, to bring awareness of the opportunities available to Fort Wayne businesses in the form of grant monies.

If you are a business that is still operating and has lost money due to the COVID-19 crisis, there is money available to you to apply for. Businesses are encouraged to apply as early as possible while funding is still available.

The Indiana Small Business Development Center has launched two new grant programs:

The Indiana Small Business Restart Grant

Provides working capital to eligible companies by reimbursing certain expenses incurred during and related to the global pandemic.

  • Main Eligibility Requirements
    • Businesses must have been established prior to October 1, 2019
    • Have been profitable and have had less than $10M in revenue in 2019
    • Have had fewer than 100 full time employees as of December 31, 2019
    • Demonstrate a monthly gross revenue loss of at least 30% compared to pre-COVID 2019 average monthly revenue
  • Reward Overview
    • Covers eligible expenses incurred between March 1, 2020 and May 1, 2021
    • $10,000/month cap with $50,000/total cap
    • Gives preference to Hoosier small businesses in the hospitality industry, but all eligible businesses are encourage to apply

Indiana Hospitality & Entertainment Grant

Supporting Indiana's hospitality & entertainment industries disproportionately impacted throughout the pandemic and largely excluded from other relief programs.

  • Main Eligibility Requirements
    • ​Businesses must have been established prior to October 1, 2019
    • Have been profitable have had $10 - $35M in revenue in 2019
    • Had fewer than 500 full time employees in 2019
    • Demonstrate a monthly gross revenue loss of at least 60% compared to the same month in 2019
  • Reward Overview
    • ​Covers eligible expenses incurred between March 1, 2020 - December 31, 2021
    • $100,000/month cap, $1 million total cap
    • Only expenses that have been incurred may be submitted - no forward-looking statements or anticipated costs

​​The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is also administering a new $28.6B financial assistance program available to support recovery for COVID-19 impacted restaurants.

  • Main Eligibility Requirements
    • Businesses that are not permanently closed where the public or patrons assemble for the primary purpose of being served food or drink.
  • Reward Overview
    • ​SBA may provide funding up to $5 million per location, not to exceed $10 million total for the applicant and any affiliated businesses
    • Minimum award is $1,000 (ex. if you are only eligible for $500, you do not qualify)
    • PPP loan amounts are deducted
    • Funding calculations vary by business operation date
  • How to Apply:
    • Directly through the SBA Platform at restaurants.sba.gov
      • Opens Friday, April 30 at 9 a.m. to register
      • Opens Monday, May 3 at 12 p.m. to apply
    • Through a Point-of-Sale Vendor
      • Square
      • Toast
      • Clover & Aloha will not accept applications, but will provide documentation to apply through SBA
