about Old Crown Brass Band:

Thank you for considering a donation to the Old Crown Brass Band to help us travel to Huntsville, Alabama to defend our Section Three First-Place honors in the April 2022 North American Brass Band Association Championships.

The Old Crown Brass Band was founded in 2007 and has become one of Fort Wayne’s premiere musical ensembles.  The band is a traditional British-style brass band and plays all styles of music including traditional marches, classical music, jazz arrangements and music from Broadway shows and movie scores.  Our 35-piece brass and percussion ensemble is made up of members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, local music educators and amateur musicians from Indiana and Ohio.  All participate on a volunteer basis and give many hours of their time rehearsing and performing with the Old Crown Brass Band.

From the very beginning our band has been an ensemble dedicated to positively representing the city of Fort Wayne by presenting upbeat concerts in our community and for other towns and schools in Indiana and Ohio.  We have participated in several Veteran’s Day programs, Benefit Concerts for area charities, Salvation Army Christmas Kettle programs and joint concerts with other area bands.  The Old Crown Brass Band has competed in the annual NABBA Championships for six years and has brought home First Place finishes in three of those six years.

We thank you for donating to our fundraiser which will greatly assist us with the monumental expense of transporting our 35-piece ensemble to Huntsville, Alabama in April of 2022.  We invite you to click on the link below to listen to a two-minute excerpt of our band playing the end of one of our NABBA Championship selections.  Thank you for your donation – it is GREATLY APPRECIATED!
