Enjoy a stroll through the sights and sounds of yesteryear! Visit the Historic Fort, where history is brought to life through hands-on demonstrations and re-enactments. Time periods from the early 1600s through the World Wars are represented at different events throughout the season. For event updates, go to www.oldfortwayne.org or facebook.com/HistoricFort Wayne.
Please note: The bridge on Spy Run Avenue is undergoing construction and is often down to one lane. Expect traffic delays when visiting the Old Fort. For the safety of our visitors, we strongly encourage you to park at Headwaters Park or Lawton Park. Otherwise, please use extreme caution when crossing Spy Run Avenue. Construction is expected to last until the end of the year.
Parking for the Fort is available at Headwaters Park, Lawton Park, and in the lot across from the Fort on Spy Run Avenue. Visitors can use the walking bridge from Headwaters Park, the Rivergreenway Trail from Lawton Park, and the Rivergreenway Trail under the Spy Run Bridge to access the Fort.
Please note: The grounds and outer buildings of the fort are handicap accessible, but the buildings within the walls of the Fort are not. The parade ground is gravel.
