    2017-12-17 14:00:00 2017-12-17 15:30:00 Babes In Toyland <p>Fort Wayne Dance Collective's annual December concert entitled “Babes In Toyland” is an original story-dance loosely based off of the original holiday tale.<br /><br />Prepare to be entertained by storybook characters from Mother Goose Land, dancing toys, eerie creatures from the Forest of No Return, and wintery landscapes! The program will include students and performers ages 3-adult from Fort Wayne Dance Collective’s diverse range of onsite school and outreach dance programs.<br /><br />The concert will feature dance styles including modern, jazz, ballet, Taiko drumming, heels dance, hip-hop and more! DIAVOLO, Architecture in Motion® , explores the relation and interaction between the human body and its architectural environment to understand how we are being affected not only socially, but physically and emotionally. DIAVOLO furthers the transformative style of Architecture in Motion by providing dance performances, training, and community programs for all. Founded in 1992 by French-born choreographer and visionary Jacques Heim, DIAVOLO is a cultural pillar of the Los Angeles community and has performed for hundreds of thousands of concertgoers worldwide as well as millions more on television.<br /><br /><br />What we do on stage is like a live abstract painting. There is no narrative, but strong themes pervade the work such as human struggle, fear, danger, survival, chaos, order, deconstruction, reconstruction, destiny, destination, faith, and love.<br />&#8211; Jacques Heim, Artistic Director<br /><br />_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________<br /><br />DIAVOLO will be leading master classes and workshops on Friday, February 2nd, which will engage the social service sites and community centers that Fort Wayne Dance Collective serves through its Dance in Education, Dance for Disabilities and Dance for Community programs.<br /><br />DIAVOLO will then perform a dynamic, jaw-dropping live performance<br /><br />Saturday, February 3rd at 7:30pm<br /><br />Arts United Center Stage<br /><br />This engagement is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest, which is generously supported by the National Endowment for the Arts with additional contributions from the Indiana Arts Commission.
