2019-02-02 10:00 AM 2019-02-02 8:00 PM World Wetlands Day <p>Partners across our community will be hosting events for the public to learn more about why wetlands are important and where wetlands are located in our community. During the day, folks can enjoy a wetland hike hosted at ACRES' headquarters in the Cedar Creek Corridor, or an indoor Wetland Bird Sit with Allen County Parks with an opportunity to hike and look for birds in the wetlands. Want to learn how a wetland is working to clean up our rivers? You will be able to visit Camp Scott for an informative hike hosted by the City of Fort Wayne. Want to get your hands dirty with wetland restoration? Come join LRWP and INPAWS for a wetland plant propagation workshop. To cap the day of events, join Dr. Bruce Kingsbury with Purdue Fort Wayne’s Environmental Resources Center, for an evening presentation on “Wetland Wildlife &#8211; More than Mosquitos”. These events are spread across the day and participants can attend all events for a special prize at the end of the evening.
