It's back! Last year's hot wing challenge was a scorcher, so this year we are taking it up a level; three levels to be exact!
Chef John Henry of NOLA on 13 has created three scorching hot wing sauces using three of the hottest peppers in the world..but you'll only get to sample all three sauces if you meet the challenge!
Here's How to Win: - Come to the first-round qualifier on November 1st and finish your wings. The top 30 fastest finishers will advance to the second-round qualifier (with an even hotter wing sauce) on November 8th. The top 15 fastest finishers will advance to the FINAL round on November 16th, with the hottest sauce of them all. There will be just ONE winner for the final event!
The Nitty Gritty: - Edit: there is a $10 registration fee that goes toward the cost of your wings -Edit: Call or stop into Trubble to add you name to the list and pay your registration fee. Remember, this goes toward the cost of your wings. - You must compete in all 3 rounds on November 1st, November 8 and November 16 to win. No exceptions. - You must eat 10 wings (each round) with no drinks and no side dishes on the table. - Wings must be eaten (not pulled) off the bone, and the bones have to be clean! - A dreaded "reversal" eliminates you from advancing/winning. - Contestants will be timed so in the event of more than 30 finishers (in Round One) and 15 contestants (in Round Two), then only the fastest finishers will advance to the next round. - Hot wing contests are not for the feint of heart, literally. If you have a heart or GI condition, consult your doctor before participating. Each contestant will be required to sign a waiver of responsibility.
What do I win? Bragging rights forever, your picture on Trubble's wall, a $100 gift card to Trubble and other cool stuff.
