Tchaikovsky’s String Quartet

Three masterpieces, all in one evening. Debussy’s Rhapsodie shows off the talents of principal clarinet Campbell MacDonald, and Mozart’s Serenade is the perfect vehicle for the virtuosity of the Philharmonic winds. Tchaikovsky said of his 2nd quartet, “I regard it as my best work; no other piece has poured forth from me so simply and easily. I wrote it almost at one sitting.”

Debussy — Première Rhapsodie for Clarinet and Piano
Mozart — Serenade No. 12 in C minor for Wind Octet
Tchaikovsky — String Quartet No 2 in F major, Op 22
