Beethoven fills the air as the Season heroically opens with music by one of the most legendary of all composers – Ludwig van Beethoven. Inspired by the ideals of the French Revolution, Beethoven originally dedicated his Eroica Symphony to Napoleon, but in a rage scratched out the dedication on the title page when Bonaparte declared himself emperor.

Beethoven — Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor, Op. 37               
Beethoven — Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 55 (Eroica)
