This work of poetic imagination, married to the hauntingly beautiful music of Curtis Heard, serves as an illumination to those unfamiliar with the tragedy, and as a powerful, enduring tribute to Matthew Shepard’s life and legacy.<br />------------------<br />VIP Ticket holders will receive one ticket to the performance as well as access to a special presentation with author of October Mourning: A Song for Matthew Shepard, Lesléa Newman. Lesléa Newman was the keynote speaker for Gay Awareness Week at the University of Wyoming in 1998 and arrived on campus the day that Matthew Shepard died. She spoke to a devastated campus and community and vowed to work to erase hate from that day forward.<br />Ms. Newman will be joining our community for this event and offering a talkback session on her place in and work with Matthew Shepard’s story as well as her other pioneering literary works on LGBT identity.
