Meet the Artists:  Sunday, June 6 from 3-5pm (Rita Grendze)

Assembled from woven grocery bags and staples, this exhibition features a large-scale immersive installation titled Belly. Grendze's work developed throughout the pandemic, invites conversations about food, food insecurity in America, and the softening of middle-aged bodies. This exhibition also includes a sub-series of Grendze's daily drawings titled Fading Perfume.

During the exhibition, in solidarity with Forward Indiana (@forwardindiana), Artlink will be accepting food donations for the free community food pantries installed throughout Fort Wayne. We will have themed weeks for suggested donations, though all non-perishable items will be accepted. The themed weeks are as follows:

May 13 - May 16: Ready to eat (ex: granola bars, jerky, etc..)

May 20 - 23: Breakfast items (ex: cereal, powdered milk, etc..)

May 27 - 30: Microwave foods (ex: ramen, mac & cheese, etc..)

June 3 - 6: Hygiene items (ex: toothbrushes, soap, pads, etc..)

Meet the Artist: Grendze will be at Artlink on Sunday, June 6 from 3 - 5pm to meet visitors and answer any questions about her work.
