About

In order to maintain social distancing during the busiest attendance hours (including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), the History Center is pre-selling tickets in 15-minute staggered tour start times. During these times, tickets must be purchased in advance online.

“Since 1985, the Festival of Gingerbread has become one of Fort Wayne’s most cherished holiday traditions, and one of downtown’s most popular events. Each year, gingerbread creations by local artists are set up in the historic Shields Room in celebration of the holidays. Gingerbread artists range from Pre-K students to professionals.”

Admission: $6 adults, $4 youth and seniors, ages 2 and under free. History Center members free

Hours: Monday - Thursday 9am-5pm, Extra Care Hours Monday - Thursday 2pm-5pm, Friday - Saturday 9am-8pm, Sunday 12pm-5pm.

27 Festival of Gingerbread Opening Day

28 Make & Take: Holiday Cards, 12-5pm Color holiday cards from around the world and send holiday cheer to family and friends. $1 plus regular museum admission

29 Make & Take: Legend of the Gingerbread Man Ornament, 12-5pm Make a gingerbread man ornament to take home and hang on the tree. $1 plus regular museum admission

30 Grand Drive Up Gingerbread Cookie Sale: 9am-5pm Cookies $1 Enjoy the Festival’s traditional gingerbread cookies at home. Contact the History to preorder. Sponsored by Prairie Farms Dairy

1 Free Night, 5-9pm Enjoy an evening at the Festival of Gingerbread for free! Sponsored by Indiana Michigan Power

5 Santa Claus at the History Center, 12-5pm Enjoy a visit with Santa Claus at the Festival of Gingerbread! Free with regular museum admission

6 Holiday Storytelling, 12-5pm Enjoy stories of the season with holiday story-telling at the Festival of Gingerbread! Free with regular museum admission.

12 Gingerbread Pursuit, 8:30am Run, run, run as fast as you can... and try to catch the Gingerbread Man! Enjoy a festive 4-mile run through downtown, then receive free same-day admission to the Gingerbread Festival with your race bib! Visit veepraces.com for more information or to register.

12 Science of Sugary Structures, 12-5pm Explore the fun side of sugary gingerbread creations. $3 plus regular museum admission

13 Make & Take: Cookie Decorating Party, 12-5pm Visit the Festival of Gingerbread and decorate your own gingerbread cookie! $3 plus regular museum admission

13 Festival of Gingerbread Final Day
