Living History: Colonial Winter Garrison 1775 - 1783 Saturday, February 29, 2020 10:00am – 5:00pm
Wintertime was hard on man and beast. Sometimes surviving it was a victory against mother nature. Now the Colonial soldiers must get ready for the struggle against England as they repair their equipment and practice their skills.
Huddling around fires, soldier's songs and stories abound as regiments of Continental Army and militia regiments spend a harsh 18th century in the Old Fort. Officer's train new recruits plan for the coming conflicts. Hearth cooking and baking keep an army fed.
Admission is FREE. Donations are accepted at the gate and permit us to keep the Fort in Fort Wayne.
