2019-06-09 5:00 PM 2019-06-09 8:30 PM BOSTON-BASED BALLAD PROJECT coming to JAZZ TALK LIVE STAGE <p>The Boston-based Ballad Project is a collaboration between bassist Doug Rich and alto saxophonist Willie Sordillo and on June 9 it’s coming to A Big Apple Jazz Club Series, at Wunderkammer Company.<br /><br />Doug and Willie have played together in jazz ensembles, gospel groups, R&amp;B and funk bands for more than 20 years. As The Ballad Project, they perform primarily without additional instrumentation, providing a spare, spacious setting to explore reflective, often meditative moods. Their repertoire draws from original works composed for this duo, some jazz ballads by other composers, and wholly improvised material created in front of the patrons.<br /><br />On the Jazz Talk Live stage the 2nd Sunday in June, Doug and Willie will be joined for portions of the mini-concert by special guests: vocalist Zoë Krohne, from Boston, and dancer Liz Monnier, and Jim Steele on keyboards, both from Fort Wayne.<br /><br /></p> 3402 Fairfield Ave Fort Wayne, IN America/Indiana/Winamac
