Heather Parrish received an MFA in Printmaking from the University of Notre Dame, and BA in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin. Her work is concerned with the complex experience of embodiment and the interconnectedness of inhabitant and environment. Through video projection, installation, printmaking, experimental photography and animations, she explores the porous boundaries between interior and exterior, rational and emotional, and past and present. The materials she uses reference veils, skin, layers, and screens, all of which evoke access and containment.
Parrish has exhibited work, given lectures, and taught workshops in the United States and abroad. She worked as a professional printmaker at Flatbed Press in Austin, Texas, and was a mentor at The Contemporary Austin museum. She is currently a Visiting Professor of Printmaking at University of Notre Dame, Indiana. She will be taking a position as Assistant Professor of Printmaking at University of Iowa, Iowa City, in the Fall of 2018.
Amanda Lilleston is a visual artist living in Maine. Her work depicts a long and evolving relationship with human anatomy, physiology and ecology. She received her MFA from University of Michigan and a BA in biology from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO. She shows her prints nationally and internationally. She has exhibited her work at the International Triennial Colour in Graphic Arts in Torún, Poland; Boston Printmakers North American Print Biennial; The Atlanta Print Biennial; Annual National Print Exhibitions at Artlink Contemporary Gallery in Fort Wayne, Indiana; The Detroit Artist Market; The Alden B. Dow Museum in Midland, Michigan; The Printmaking Center of New Jersey; Portal Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia; and the Ice Box Gallery in Philadelphia. She currently resides in Maine, and teaches printmaking at Colby College.
