“Why a Garden? - a Sensory Experience” summer-fall exhibit

"Why a Garden? - a Sensory Experience" Summer-Fall Exhibit
July 11 - November 15

Hundreds of public gardens have grown up across America over our first two and a half centuries. Fort Wayne’s Botanical Conservatory was conceived in the 1980s as a gift to the city. Why a garden, and not some other gift? Different gardens answer that question in different ways. But this summer and fall, the Conservatory invites you to escape the turbulence of daily life and step into our Showcase garden, designed to help you stop. Relax. Reflect. Winding pathways from garden room to water feature to hidden spaces and quiet alcoves allow your simple curiosity to be piqued by what lies before you. Absorb the spicy fragrance of herbs, be soothed by the sound of splashing water, consider the results of your own interactions, and linger in the shade of the willow trees. Let insight and memory find you receptive to their lessons. Sponsored by Majic 95.1 WAJI and PBS39.
