Hoosiers in Harmony: Heartland Sings’ World Record Attempt

As a full-time singer at Heartland Sings, I’ve got a busy December ahead of me. But with mostly Christmas concerts scheduled (Jingle Bell Jazz and The Spirit of Christmas, to name two), the Hoosiers in Harmony concert really sticks out. First of all, it takes place on December 10th at the Mad Ants basketball game in the Memorial Coliseum--the last time I was there, I was performing with Barry Manilow! I asked my coworker, full-time bass baritone Ian Williams, to chime in with the details.

Artlink’s Bicentennial Exhibit: Focusing on Fort Wayne

One of the many events Fort Wayne has to offer during Indiana’s bicentennial year celebration is the Bicentennial Exhibit at Artlink Contemporary Gallery. This family-friendly exhibit displays 200 pieces of art including sculptures, paintings, and photographs that represent Indiana. While many of the artists reside in Fort Wayne and surrounding cities such as Columbia City, New Haven, and Leo, there is also artwork from cities such as Goshen, Muncie, and Indianapolis. Outside of Indiana, some of the artwork displayed comes from artists who live in Chicago, Grand Rapids, and San Francisco.

History Center Hosts WWI Traveling Exhibit

Have you heard Indiana is having a birthday? We became a state in 1816. This makes us 200 years old in 2016!

Happy Birthday, Indiana!

In 2016, Indiana is celebrating its 200th Birthday. Throughout the state and during the whole year there will be signature Bicentennial events. All around Indiana, the celebrations kicked off on December 11 with a Bicentennial Flag raising.
