Summer is such a fantastic time of year for music. There are festivals and tours galore, and many of the performances are out in the open air. I myself am currently ticking off the concerts I want to attend in Fort Wayne in the coming months. If you are too, be sure to consider some of the world-famous acts that will be gracing the city in the later part of the summer.

August 7 at the Sweetwater Pavilion

Slash (of Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver fame) is coming to Fort Wayne with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. This living legend is widely known as one of the world’s best guitar players, so if you’re a fan of the guitar, you’d better get your tickets stat.

Heartland Sings presents Absolutely A Cappella

August 10 at 11 at the Williams Theatre (Purdue University Fort Wayne)

For some local flavor, check out Heartland Sings’ new production, Absolutely A Cappella. Heartland Sings is a local nonprofit vocal production company that creates both performance and education programs, so it’s a great organization to support.

But trust me, going to this show won’t feel like charity! Since I was in a college a cappella group, I know how tricky those harmonies are to get right, and this group nails it every time for some serious Pentatonix vibes.

Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson

August 11 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum

Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson are embarking on their third Twins of Evil tour this year, and Fort Wayne is on their list!

Rob Zombie has multiple platinum albums and has been nominated for several Grammy awards for his unique combination of horror and rock; Manson has had several chart-topping albums fueled by singles like “The Dope Show” and “Tourniquet.”
