They say variety is the spice of life. But why not add a variety of spices to your life? The Great American Spice Co. is a one-stop shop for all things spice-related. Locally owned since 2007 by the Tippmann family, the Great American Spice Company is a Fort Wayne success story. According to their website, "Today the Great American Spice Company prides itself on 'Fresher Spices & Better Prices', but it’s actually more than that. If you examine our spices alongside the spices you'd buy at a typical supermarket, you'd immediately recognize the vibrant color and stronger bouquet that makes ours better. Growing conditions change from season to season and can affect the appearance of spices, including the percentage of volatile oils, color and texture, which is why we constantly scan the global network of suppliers to bring you the highest quality spices at the best prices." Customers can order products online, or visit their 9,000 square feet factory outlet store located at 2300 Meyer Rd. Hours are 10 am to 5 pm Mon.-Fri.. Here, customers are sure to find something to take home, with a selection of 3200 products! But the outlet promises more a wide selection of spices. Their most popular items are: Prague Powder, Charcoal Seasoning, Morton Tender Quick Meat Cure,Bertman’s Original Ball Park Mustard, Cheddar Cheese Powder, Worcestershire Powder, Citric Acid, Pretzel Salt, Lemon Juice Powder, Lime Juice Powder, Gebhardt Chili Powder, Hickory Smoke Powder, Sweet Hungarian Paprika and our line of Cinnamon’s. The owners recently purchased another company, Mild to Wild, which enables them to create, bottle and distribute their own barbecue sauces, hot sauces and distribute other well known brands as well. Not sure what to buy? Their dedicated staff is always on-hand to answer your questions. Can't make it to the store? Order online on their website.
