If you haven't heard about "Last Saturdays" yet, September is the month to be in the know. The Fort Wayne Cultural District has designated the last Saturday of each month as a time for downtown to come alive with a vast array of cultural entertainment options! Saturday, September 29 will include International Blast, Fort 4 Fitness, and a plethora of other options from downtown businesses and attractions happening all day long!
Starting the day off rather early in the morning, the Fort 4 Fitness 4 Mile Run/Walk takes off at 7:30 at the Baker Street Station! This multi-certified course takes participants through South Central Fort Wayne, and back downtown for the finish at the home plate of Parkview Field!
2012 Fort 4 Fitness Half Marathon kicks off at 8:00 am, extending through Foster Park, and also finishes at Parkview Field. The 10k Run/Walk takes off at 9:00 am from Baker Street Station, and after 6.2 miles, also finishes at Parkview Field. Fort 4 Fitness celebrates Northeast Indiana's commitment to healthy living and lifestyles.
Join everyone this year and celebrate after the race at International Blast! Kicking off National Diversity week in style, downtown Fort Wayne celebrates our city's multicultural character with International Blast from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Wayne and Calhoun streets, and One Summit Square. This free, family friendly event will feature ethnic foods, artist's booths, and performances (including TRIACC's Jembe Ensemble, Fort Wayne Youtheatre, Mon Dancers, and martial arts demonstrations) , as well as booths for cultural organizations. This is a great chance to learn more about many cultures from around the world who have recently called Fort Wayne their home.
