Full disclosure: As a Purdue University fan, writing this post was kind of a bitter pill to swallow. But I have to admit, Indiana University's upcoming appearance at the Shindigz National Soccer Festival is pretty cool. For the first time, two consecutive Men's NCAA National Championship soccer teams will face off – the aforementioned Hoosiers, 2012 NCAA National Champions, versus the University of North Carolina Tarheels, champions in 2011.
And while this is the marquee match, there will be plenty of other top-tier men's and women's collegiate soccer action all weekend, August 22 through August 24, 2013, at Hefner Field on the Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne campus.
It should be a beautiful weekend – bring the kids out for some amazing play on the pitch and take some time to wander the midway where you'll find all sorts of fun and games. Tickets are available at various locations around Fort Wayne, including Walgreens, Connelly's Do It Best, and both 800? restaurants, for $5; at the gate, $7.
