For a coffee lover like me, The Mocha Lounge offers the necessities I crave in my daily dose of caffeine – and then some! Tucked into a corner of a strip mall at 6312 Covington Rd., this coffee shop provides many amenities not found in most other coffee shops. The large, front windows allow an ample amount of natural sunlight to enhance everyone’s dining experience and provide welcome energy. The soothing music playing in the background mixed with various coffee-flavored scents created a relaxing ambience for the dozen customers that dined with me.
This particular coffee shop has a unique way of creating unity amongst customers while still allowing personal space for those who need it. The large, spacious room contains an inviting-looking fireplace and several couches, tables and chairs set up in various arrangements, along with games and magazines. The artistic details that I noticed add to the uniqueness: different-textured furniture, coffee cup shapes in the backs of the iron chairs, and floral images on hot drink holders.
I ordered a hot Almond Joy Mocha and a huge triple berry muffin, which contained cranberries, raspberries and blueberries. Both were delicious, and I enjoyed them as I used the lounge’s complimentary WiFi. Menu items include gluten-free products and a kids’ menu. Coffee drinks range from basic flavors to fun drink flavors. One aspect which I also enjoyed was the at-home feel once I sat down. There was a sense of camaraderie as people of all ages met up with friends and shared in coffee and laughter on this Saturday morning. The baristas often engaged in conversation for the customers who chose to be seated at the drink bar. If you don’t have time to walk in to order yourself a cup of Joe, there is also a drive thru provided to the right of the building.
I look forward to my next visit to the Mocha Lounge and highly recommend it for all coffee lovers!
