A few years ago, I met a young couple who decided to relocate to Fort Wayne. They were happily settled into careers on the West Coast. They loved the California lifestyle, but they hated the area's steep cost of old homes! So, they decided to take a vacation to the Midwest and look at old homes, before deciding on employment opportunities. Due to relatives, they visited Fort Wayne. On the trip, they decided to purchase a home in the Harrison Hill neighborhood. Affordable, old homes are the drawing point of Fort Wayne! The Summit City has quality, old homes to see and to purchase. If you love old homes, I encourage you visit Fort Wayne on August 29 and tour several old, unique homes.
The Harrison Hill Home and Garden Tour will be held that day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The tour will feature many beautiful houses ranging from stately Colonial Revivals to unique Tudor Revivals. In addition to the unique homes, the tour will feature Harrison Hill Elementary School and Redeemer Lutheran Church. You can meet plenty of fine, Fort Wayne residents at the silent auction, a food market with several local food trucks and an art/vendor market with several popular, local artisans. It is a day filled with history and fun for all ages.
