If you are looking for some fun activities with your family, I would highly recommend trying out U-pick farms around Fort Wayne, Indiana! Kids will have so much fun picking out fresh fruit right from the farms and orchards.

A few things to know before heading to the u-picks. Picking fruits in the hot sun is not a fun deal. So choose the chilliest day possible or start early!

The earlier you go, the fresher the fruits are — especially berries. Also, don't forget sunscreen, bug spray, hats, water, etc.

Read on to find a few of my favorite local u-pick farm around Fort Wayne and Allen County, where you can find the best produce.

Favorite U-Pick Farms in Fort Wayne

Cedar Creek Produce

A must-visit place every summer! They have great produce and very friendly staff.

— Strawberries - They are juicy, sweet red berries but the weeds around them make it a challenge to find the ripe ones which is fun for the kids. Kids will have more fun than adults as it is like a treasure hunt because you get really big red ones and they are the best. Best Month: June

— Blueberries - Plump and tasty blueberries are treats. Best Month: July

— Blackberries - Tart, sweet and juicy blackberries. Best Month: Late July – Mid-August

— Peaches - Sweet and juicy peaches. Best Month: August

In addition, they sell pre-picked red and black raspberries, vegetables, pumpkins, eggs, maple syrups, honey, and flowers.

This is a great place to pick out your pumpkins in the fall, when they also have kids' activities, photo ops, and apple cider slushies.
