tasteofhomecookingschool121It seems as though everyone nowadays loves to cook—or at least some people like to give the impression they love to cook. Myriads of magazines have popped in recent years to accommodate this frenzy to learn techniques, recipes and equipment basics to master the culinary arts.

On Saturday, October 19, one of the most popular cooking magazines, Taste of Home, will host an event in Fort Wayne for those of us who need more than written text and photos to help us understand methods of basting and sauteing. As part of the 2013 Kitchen and Bath Expo to be held at the Allen County Memorial Coliseum, a special cooking school will be presented by Taste of Home professional chefs. The show starts at 4:00 pm with the Cooking School beginning at 7:00 pm. This presentation signals the return of the Taste of Home Cooking School, proving its popularity as an event that meets a need and interest of the Fort Wayne community. We might have a dearth of fine restaurants in the area but we still like to know how to prepare our own chow. You can sign up for the advance discount price of $15. Tickets at the door will be $19. You can get premium seating for the class, including a Taste of Home cookbook, for $55. Maybe these people get to lick the beaters too!
