Where can you go to see a variety of Fort Wayne's talented artists in one arena? Taste of the Arts is the answer! This fine arts and food festival Aug. 24 in downtown Fort Wayne promises an art marketplace, live entertainment and fare from local restaurants. . This provides an opportunity for the community to sample the different kinds of fine art, dance, theatre, music and more that Northeast Indiana has to offer.Taste of the ArtsArt lovers in the family will likely gravitate to the marketplace, where many area artisans gather, display and sell their artwork.

Almost every kind of art you can imagine will be on hand. Insider’s tip: Make sure to come with plenty of cash, as some vendors do not accept credit cards. Hungry? Try some of the fare available from from local bistros, restaurants and eateries throughout the region. (Think food trucks!)

Order a full meal or smaller tasting portions so you can have a little of everything. And, of course, there’s a beer garden featuring locally crafted brews and other libations for the over-21 crowd. Stages and performance centers are spread throughout the Arts United Center and plaza, Friemann Square Park, Auer Center for Performing Arts, and the Hall Center (Cinema Center).

And now for the best part? Proceeds from this event go directly toward Arts United’s Art Education Grants to advance the local arts scene. Also, admission is free, however food and beverage tickets are required to purchase food.
