Summer is a busy time in Fort Wayne, as we host dozens of meetings, conventions and sports tournaments. This month, four national groups will host their annual events in our city, including a new convention coming to Fort Wayne.

For the first-time ever, the Automobile License Plate Collectors will bring its convention to the Grand Wayne Convention Center. From July 20-23, over 500 people will showcase license plate collections, trade industry information, and discuss organization business.

Returning to Fort Wayne for a second time is the State Wars United States Roller Hockey Championships from July 27-August 7. For 12 days, an estimated 10,000 roller hockey players and coaches will compete at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse. 

From July 12-16, the National Fishing Lures Collectors Club returns to Fort Wayne for a third time in five years. More than 900 fishing lure enthusiasts will view the world's largest collection of collectible fishing equipment at the Grand Wayne Convention Center. 

In addition, the Gym Rats Basketball Association will host its prestigious National Championship from July 8-10 at Spiece Fieldhouse. More than 100 teams and 2,500 basketball, coaches and parents from seven states will travel to Fort Wayne.

With over 150 conferences, conventions and sports tournaments coming to Fort Wayne this year, our city continues to be a premier Midwest destination for group business. These events will generate $39 million dollars in total economic impact.
