There are so many fun ways to enjoy fall in Indiana. When the leaves are changing colors and the air is just beginning to cool off, there's nothing I like more than taking road trips around the state to enjoy the scenery!
Northern Indiana has a lot to offer, too. From the lakes and trails to the north of Fort Wayne to the festivals that pop up around the region, it's easy to take in the fall sights and sounds.
One such venue to check out is the Moose Lake Christian Craft Village in LaOtto, a 20-minute drive north of Fort Wayne. This lodge-style village is a fun blend of your typical, woodsy style meets 1800s Americana. From Mackey's General Store to modern food items to future plans for the village's tourism, this village is a fun way to wind down the summer.
On October 10th and 11th, the Moose Lake Fall Festival at the village will feature more traditional family activities, including horse-drawn wagon rides - my favorite! - and several woodcarving artisans. There are several intricately-carved wooden sculptures in my hometown, so I can appreciate the time and effort that go into creating these works of art. This festival should not only be fun for the family, but also help others recognize the value of handmade artwork in various forms.
The Moose Lake Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, October 10th, and Sunday, October 11th, from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Free admission.
