Kick off your 2012 road racing season at one of the fastest growing races in the Fort Wayne area -- the 'Get Green' 5-Kilt 5K race. As part of the Fort Wayne Firefighters 'Get Green' St. Patrick's Day festival, participation in this race is sure to bring out the Irish in everyone. This year's race is Saturday, March 17 in downtown Fort Wayne at headwaters Park West, at 200 N. Calhoun St. The run/walk event starts promptly at 9:30 a.m. Participants at this third-annual road race are known for wearing green and for some -- dressing in costume. Spectating for this event provides it's own level of entertainment, so bring your family out to watch or run and 'Get Green'! Register online now through noon on March 16 for $25. After noon on March 16 you can register person at the packet pickup, however, rates go up to $30. There is no race day registration for this event. Participants receive a technical T-shirt and post-race food and drinks will be available under a heated tent at Headwaters Park West, where awards will also be distributed to top finishers. Packet pick-up is March 16 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the IAFF Union Hall, 1405 Broadway, in Fort Wayne.
