Guests can trick-or-treat for candy at the Treat trails, view zoo animals, meet Broomhilda the friendly witch, see giant sized pumpkins, and much more! Children can choose their own mini-pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch. Animal sculptures made out of pumpkins are always a guest favorite. Train riders will hear "Tale of the twisted Tree" as they venture into the Franke Park woods.
During the event, the Central Zoo and Australian Adventure will be open. Activities will also be located in the Parvkiew Physicians Group Pavilions in African Journey.
Kids are encouraged to wear costumes. The zoo is decorated for Halloween and feature several photo spots where guests can take their own pictures.
Admission to the Wild Zoo Halloween is 45 for al ages; admission with Halloween treats is $9 for all ages. Zoo members receive $2 off admission. Babies 1 and under are admitted free bu are charged $4 if they receive treats. Additional fees are charged for the train and pony rides and bead bracelet making. Food is also available for purchase.
October 14: PLUMPkin Day: a super sized pumpkin will be on display and the guest who correctly guesses the pumpkins weight will win a special prize!
October 15: Princess Day: princess characters and ballerinas will charm zoo guests from 1-4pm. Families are encouraged to take photos with these special charaters!
October 16: Mascot Day: Meet local mascots from 2-4pm including Icy (Komets), Johnny (Tincaps), Don the Mastodon (IPFW), and more! The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo's own Sydney the Kangaroo Mascot will be on hand to greet guests.
October 20: Free Train Rides
October 21: Pumpkin Stomp and Chomp-on this day the zoo residents will get special pumpkin treats
October 22: Local hero day-Meet local fire, police and military personnel from 1-3pm
October 23-Star Wars Day-Meet Star Wars characters from 1-3pm
October 27- Cans for Conservation-Bring an empty aluminum can and get a free train ride ticket
October 28- Scavenger Hunt
October 29&30- Trunk and tractor Weekend
October 31- Pumpkin Decorating Workshop. You can decorate a mini pumpkin to take home
