Three Rivers Festival

Fort Wayne’s favorite summer party since 1969! All the great and loved events are back for this year’s festival. The Three Rivers Festival starts off on Saturday, July 13 with the parade. Over 50,000 people are expected to attend this year’s parade, whose theme is “Made Here” in association with the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership. Also on Saturday, be sure to check out Art in the Park, where visitors can browse the work of local artists. Next door, see the Chalkwalk, an annual favorite sponsored by the Fort Wayne Museum of Art. This community competition has prizes for best eye-fooling design, people’s choice, and more.
During the week, stop by Waiter-Waitress Competition on Monday, July 15 at 11:30 a.m. Watch as the staff from favorite local restaurants compete to in a relay race for service supremacy. On Wednesday, July 17, get ready for the Three Rivers Festival tradition, the Bed Race. Five-person teams race down Main Street with uniquely designed beds beginning at 6:15 p.m. This event is not one to miss.
On Saturday, July 20, take part in the River Games at Fort Wayne Outfitters, and end the festival by taking in a fireworks show. The Fort Wayne Community Band will play in Friemann Square prior to the fireworks, which begin at 10 p.m. from One Summit Square.
Every day of the festival, stop by Junk Food Alley for classical carnival and fair food from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Another mainstay of the Three Rivers Festival is the Downtown Midway, home to many traditional carnival rides. Full day ride wristbands are available for purchase prior to the start of the festival.
