Praised for her lush tone and nuanced lyricism, violinist Elena Urioste bring her skills to Shostakovich's violin concerto. Originally banned in Soviet Russia, this stunning concerto is both haunting and passionate. It demands exquisite technique from violin, and Urioste delivers. The Phil is honored to invite Swiss-born guest conductor Matthias Bamert to the podium. Two distinquished guests honor two renowned grandmasters.
