Celebrations! presents a refreshing mixed repertoire of classical and contemporary movements, appealing to fans of ballet and those who are unsure if they like ballet. Adding to the celebration will be an encore performance of Gerald Arpino’s Birthday Variations, which has only been performed in the Midwest by Fort Wayne Ballet and by Joffrey Ballet. This delightful ballet presents a 20th century master in a true blend of classical and contemporary. It’s a bit exotic and always enjoyable. An Opening Night Champagne Reception will follow the performance of Celebrations! and will allow audience members to meet and greet the dancers from the evening's production. With catering generously provided by Club Soda, the cocktail-style reception will begin immediately after the performance at the Ian Rolland Gallery in the Arts United Center.
