Artlink’s 100 Years of Connectivity
Opening Reception
Friday, October 21, 2011
6-10pm

Mark your calendars for Friday, October 21, for the opening reception. Live music will be provided by the Fort Wayne-based The End Times Spasm Band from 8:30 to 10 p.m. If you haven’t heard this band, think Spike Jones and the City Slickers or Django Rhinehart and you’ll get the idea behind this swing, American jazz, 1920’s and 30’s sounding young group. Their records are available on Chain Smoking Records, on iTunes and Amazon. The group consists of Lyndsy Rae Patterson (vocals), Zach Wright (bass), Eric Stucky (drums) and Bart Helms (guitar).

The first exhibit in the Auer Center for Arts and Culture, 300 E. Main Street will be 100 Years of Connectivity: George Kessler Park and Boulevard System which highlights the greening of Fort Wayne and is sponsored in part by Friends of the Parks. The Gallery Walk-through starts at 6:00 p.m. and features three artists from the exhibit. There’s enough space in the new gallery for two other exhibits: Photographs by Dominic Manco and Oil Paintings by Rebecca Stockert.

$2 suggested donation for general public; free for Artlink members

Artlink’s hours in the new space will be Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m., Thursday noon to 8 p.m., and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
