Friday, October 14 - Tuesday, October 18, 2011
Library hours

Seven Tibetan Buddhist monks from the famous Labrang Tashi Kyil Monastery, Dehra Dun, India, will create a sand mandala in the Great Hall of the Main Library.

On the final evening of their visit, Tuesday, October 18, at 7:00 pm, Arjia Rinpoche, the monks’ host and Director of the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Culture Center in Bloomington, IN, will give a presentation at the main library, entitled, “My Memoirs: Surviving the Dragon.”

The creation and destruction of sand mandalas are a uniquely Tibetan Buddhist ritual tradition.
