Brrrrrrrr! Winter has truly arrived in the Fort now. That means all things winter: scarves, gloves, jackets, hats, salted roads, the whole nine yards. But, don't forget one of the best parts about winter: all of the warm foods. This time of year, a hot beverage or food choice can't be wrong! And one of my favorite, most comforting kinds of foods in the winter are soups. There's nothing like a warm bowl of soup to beat the cold! Luckily, in Fort Wayne we have an amazing selection of places that serve up warmth and comfort in a bowl.

Try one of these places for a warm bowl of soup on your next visit to Fort Wayne!

Dash-In

This is a Fort Wayne winter staple. It's probably my favorite place to grab lunch when it get cold (as it often does in the Midwest!). They always have a couple of different soups on deck, but my favorite is the tomato bisque. Pair it with one of their famous grilled cheeses (the pesto and artichoke grilled cheese for me, please!). I'm warmer just thinking about it.

Deli 620

At Deli 620 you can find any of your lunch-time favorites like a salad bar, grilled cheeses, many specialty sandwiches, and their crowd favorite soups. Make sure you check out their daily specials on Facebook or Twitter before you stop at this restaurant. If Chicken Velvet is on the menu, make sure you try it! This soup sells out fast and it's something many Deli 620 lovers drool over.

Pembroke Bakery

Pembroke is a fantastic place to get a cup of soup. They're a vegan bakery, but they have a little bit of everything you could possibly ask for. With rotating soup specials, you're guaranteed to always find something new! Get your hands on their vegetable soups; a great rendition of a classic soup!

Calhoun Soups, Salads & Spirits

I mean, it is in the name! Another great place for grilled cheese and tomato soup (and they have a great salad bar to accompany your soup if you so desire!).

Main Street Bistro

I love, love, love the French Onion soup at Main Street! Just like the name of the restaurant, you get exactly what you expect out of this soup (Main Street Bistro is located on Main Street, and this French Onion soup is as deliciously french onion-y as it gets!). French onion not your thing? Tack a whack at any other soups on the menu. You won't be disappointed.

Granite City

Granite City does everything well - including their soups. A popular choice is the Northern Cheddar and Ale!

No matter which of these you pick, you're sure to leave satisfied! So bundle up on your way out the door and head to one of these spots - the venture will be worth the soup!
