It’s that time of year again – time to join Clara on her dreamlike journey filled with colorful characters, lavish sets, rich costumes, and a lush musical score. Yes, Tchaikovsky’s timeless holiday classic comes to life as the perfect event for the entire family.  It’s a wonderful seasonal celebration for kids and adults of all ages. Join Clara and Fritz as they dance and play and welcome family and friends to the Stahlbaum house on Christmas Eve. Watch Clara open her gift from godfather Drosselmeyer and fall asleep under the family Christmas tree where she drifts into dreamland next to her nutcracker. There, Clara finds herself in the midst of a fight between the Mice King and the Nutcracker Prince and then ventures to the Land of Snow and the Land of Sweets before the dream ends. Girls...bring your 18-inch dolls attired in hand made replicas of the Nutcracker costumes. The hand constructed costumes come with a label that can be personalized with each child’s name. All performances begin on Friday, December 2, and conclude Sunday, December 11, 2011 and are held at the Arts United Center at 303 E. Main Street. Tickets start at $28 for adults, $23 for seniors, $18 for youth, and $15 for children. All matinee performances conclude with a Sugar Plum Party in the Ian Rolland Gallery.
